Hello, and thank you very much for reviewing my application! I’ve selected three pieces for my portfolio, each viewable here as a score video with a brief description. Full program notes for each piece appear at the end of the video, and in the YouTube description if you click through. The scores and recordings are also available to download at the bottom of the page. If you’re interested to look at more pieces, or for a fuller overview of what I’ve written, please feel free to continue looking around my website.
Salon Music (2025) is a string trio inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection of 18th century French decorative arts. The piece was commissioned by the Entraide Française NYC, and premiered on January 31, 2025, at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York City. This score video combines recordings of two later performances: by Maude Cloutier, Lily Jonsson, and Ari Peraza-Webb on December 3, 2025 at the Juilliard School’s Paul Recital Hall (movements 1, 4, & 5); and by Ezra Shcolnik, Lily Jonsson, and Ari Peraza-Webb on May 2, 2025, at the Tenri Cultural Institute in New York City (movements 2, 3, 6).
Vegetable Nirvana (2024) is a septet I wrote in response to Itō Jakuchū’s 1792 ink painting of the same name. The piece was premiered at a Juilliard composition department concert on April 15, 2024, by Minwu Hu (flute), Anju Aoto (bass clarinet), Raquel Nisi (harp), Katya Moeller (violin 1), Ensley Kim (violin 2), Lily Jonsson (viola), and Colin Guan (cello). This recording was made on May 8, 2024 by the same ensemble.
Topatopa (2025) is an orchestra piece I wrote based on material from a previous chamber piece of mine, and named for the Topatopa Moutnains in my native Ventura County, California. The piece was read and recorded by the Juilliard Orchestra, conducted by Jeffrey Milarsky, on May 5, 2025.
